Throughout this study of the book of Ruth, we have seen the counter-cultural way that Ruth acted in her masculine-dominant society. She was affirmed by the Jews as a woman of tremendous character.
In this fourth and final message, we focus on the way that Ruth attracted people's attention by her love. She is described by the women of the town as having "ahav" love for Naomi (which is also demonstrated by Boaz' love for her). This is the same love that is described in the Shema as the love we are to have for God, which Jesus said is the greatest of all the commandments. Our love for God is oftentimes demonstrated in our love for each other.
