In this series, we will look at women who served as prophets in the Bible. We will see how these women heard a message from God, internalized and applied it to their lives, and shared it as messengers of God to the people. We will also see how we are all called to be prophets in our world today.
In this fifth and final message, we celebrate Christmas through the eyes of the prophetess, Anna. As Jesus was brought to the temple for the dedication of pidyon haben, he is hailed as the Messiah by Simeon and Anna. Their message serves as encouragement to Mary and Joseph and points to the rest of the story of Jesus--the one who pitched his tent among us, which we celebrate at Christmas.
