In this series, we will examine the lives of various women who served as leaders in the early church. These women were evangelists, pastors, deacons, and so much more. As the modern church wrestles with the appropriate roles of leadership for women in the church, we must consider these important biblical examples.
In this fourth week, we look at a woman named Priscilla and her husband, Aquila. After being expelled from Rome, they traveled to Corinth, where they met Paul. Already believers, Priscilla served in this new community and went on to help form churches both in Corinth and Ephesus. Like Lydia, she hosted these churches and pastored them, highlighting how woman can and should be empowered to serve in the pastoral role even today.
