1 Timothy 2:8-15
Paul, Paul, Why Do You Confuse Me? (pt. 2: 1 Timothy 2:8-15)

In this series, we will examine some of the most confusing Pauline passages. In these sections of Paul's writing, he addresses the role of women in the home, church and community. We will explore what Paul says in these texts and the consistency with his affirmation of women in leadership.

In this second message, we look at Paul's counsel to tell women to be quiet, submit, dress modestly, and avoid teaching men in the church in Ephesus. We analyze the culture of Ephesus, the reason for Paul's instruction, and the danger of making this a universal command. We see how Paul's goal is unity in the church through collaboration and not indoctrination.
