In this series, we will look at women who served as prophets in the Bible. We will see how these women heard a message from God, internalized and applied it to their lives, and shared it as messengers of God to the people. We will also see how we are all called to be prophets in our world today.
In this first message, we will look at the prophet, Miriam. We will see how she served as a caregiver, teacher, and leader among the Hebrews. We will focus on the detremental way that she exhibited racial bigotry towards Moses and his Cushite wife. We will be challenged to stand up to fight against systemic racism in our modern world.
